Mark is the Strategic Executive Officer of Sol-REIT. Mark serves as a liaison with the firm’s Board of Directors and furnishes executive leadership across the firm, including oversight of all capital markets, originations, structuring, credit risk, underwriting and marketing functions. Mark brings over 35 years of executive leadership, financial markets expertise and economics education experience to the firm.
Jeremy Ben-David is the President of Sol-REIT where he drives the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies and steering the company towards achieving its long-term goals. He helps lead the development and execution of strategic business plans in collaboration with the CEO and the Board of Directors, oversees daily business operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of resources.
Derek Gabriel Sr. serves as COO & Head of Originations of Sol-REIT, a position through which he develops and manages relationships with developers and EPCs to meet their capital needs. Derek previously served as V.P. of Renewable Energy Lending and Business Development at National Cooperative Bank, where he managed residential, commercial and utility scale solar business development of over $500 million in assets nationwide. He brings 15 years of experience in solar development, origination, solar policy implementation, tax-equity structures, and debt-financing to the Sol-REIT team.
Ursula is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Sol-REIT. In this role, Ursula is a strategic business partner responsible for evaluating, enhancing and executing on strategic direction, financial planning, reporting and accounting, and managing cash flows. Ursula brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, capital allocation, M&A, finance, treasury, investor engagement, risk management, and accounting. In addition, Ursula has extensive experience in both the public and private markets, including raising capital and creating shareholder value.
Taimur Jamil is the Chief Investment Officer of Sol-REIT. In his role with Sol-REIT, Taimur leads investment strategy, underwriting, credit risk analysis, portfolio management and asset management for the company. Taimur brings over 18 years of expertise in financial markets, structured credit, credit risk, energy efficient financing and underwriting to the firm.
Chris Clayton joined Sol-REIT as senior counsel in June 2022. Prior to joining Sol-REIT, Chris was Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel at CoBank, ACB, the largest bank in the federal Farm Credit System, with approximately $135 billion in assets. At CoBank, Chris led the bank’s legal and loan processing division, a team of 70+ attorneys, paralegals, and other associates responsible for the negotiation and documentation of all loans made by the bank in all business areas, including agribusiness, rural infrastructure (electric distribution, generation and transmission, energy project finance, telecommunications, and water), trade structured finance, and equipment leasing. Before joining CoBank, Chris was an associate and later counsel at Bingham McCutchen LLP, an international law firm, where he was a member of the firm’s Financial Services and Financial Restructuring groups. He represented financial institutions, as well as a captive lender of a large aircraft manufacturer, in a variety of lending transactions and restructurings. Chris graduated summa cum laude from American University’s Washington College of Law and has an undergraduate degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Adam Moskowitz is Sol-REIT’s CMO, a role that entails the development of Sol-REIT’s market presence as well as its public and investor communications. Moskowitz is a financial services industry veteran of 20+ years with extensive experience establishing marketing and messaging platforms for both commercial banking start-ups and early-stage specialty lenders. He has been a founding member of two publicly traded commercial banks and most recently has supported the growth of “green” lenders in successive roles at Greenworks Lending (acquired by Nuveen) and Counterpointe Sustainable Real Estate (acquired by Mass Mutual).
